OPC UA Secure Bridge

HD67N08 is the ADFweb solution designed to create secure, controlled and flexible communication between OPC UA networks and devices with different levels of protection.

The device works as an OPC UA Secure Bridge and is equipped with 2 separate and isolated LAN ports. Based on the system configuration, the converter can adapt communication between the OPC UA Client side and the OPC UA Server side, managing the data flow according to the actual network architecture.

This solution is useful when OPC UA systems with high security requirements must be connected to already installed devices that expose data in Anonymous mode, or that do not natively support authentication, signing, encryption or certificate management.
It is also suitable when the devices between Client and Server use different communication standards.

HD67N08 therefore increases the security level of OPC UA communication without replacing existing devices, making it ideal for retrofit, revamping, cybersecurity upgrades and new industrial architectures.

How It Works

Flexible bridge between OPC UA networks
HD67N08 is installed between two OPC UA networks, or between two OPC UA devices, that need to communicate with each other while using different security levels.

The Client / Server configuration is defined according to the application: the converter can read data from an OPC UA device and expose it again to another system, or manage communication in the direction required by the plant.

In this way it is possible to create a controlled communication point between two network segments, keeping the Ethernet connections separate and applying the required security level.

Advanced OPC UA security
The converter supports different access and protection modes, allowing communication to be adapted to the security policies of the plant or upper-level system.

Selective filtering of OPC UA variables
In addition to the secure bridge function, HD67N08 allows selecting which OPC UA variables are made available from one network to the other.

This function is useful when the source device exposes many variables, but only specific data must be transferred to the destination network. Filtering reduces the exposed information, simplifies communication and increases control over shared data.
